For their most recent release, I worked on Minneapolis, Minn. band BEAR’s 7” single and four-song cassette tape. What they gave me to work with: “People are stuck. The town is middle America. It's a little off and strange. The songs have references to aliens, being tan and broke, growing armpit hair, doing mushrooms, sleeping in Walmart parking lots, wanting to get the fuck out while you can and still have a choice, stealing dogs, etc. People are in love there. But it's not a great place to be in love, but they don't really realize that and it hurts them when they find out.”
